The research activities are centered around the developement of quantum transport tools and the study of coherent and incoherent transport in nano and molecular scale systems (molecular devices, CNT, SiNW, ...).
Developement of atomistic quantum transport tools based on density functional tight-binding (DFTB) and non-equilibrium Green’s functions (NEGF).
Development of an integrated tools for classical and quantum transport simulations. Within this project atomistic DFTB and empirical TB approaches have been developed, together with calculations of optical and quantum transport properties.
Studies of coherent and incoherent transport across molecular systems and devices with particular attention to electron-phonon scattering and local heating.
Atomistic simulations of transport properties of CNT FET devices.
Atomistic simulations of Si Nanowire FETs.

gDFTB is no longer developed.
Recent developments are implemented on dftb+ and will be released soon. Please refer to the BCCMS group in bremen at http://www.dftb.org for technical support on the method.
Please also note that the SK files necessary to run the code should be downloded from the BCCMS repository at the link above after registration.
