NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSICS 2014

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2014 was awarded jointly to Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura "for the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources".


Il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettronica attraverso il gruppo di ricerca OLAB sta contribuendo, sin dal 1999, in maniera molto significativa allo stato dell'arte in questo settore attraverso numerosi progetti, l'ultimo dei quali FP7-NEWLED rappresenta un importante iniziativa a livello europeo per incrementare ulteriormente l'efficienza (lumen/watt) dei LED bianchi.
